• Friends and Families,
We are in strange times for living and learning.  I wanted to share some distant learning resources with you while you are away from school.  I can't wait to see you in a few weeks.  Be safe and wash your hands!  You matter to me, so take care!

Wlogo elcome to Sorensen Magnet School for the Arts & Humanities' Library!
My name is Lisa Rakes.  For the past 20 years, I have happily been in education. Having grown-up in Coeur d'Alene, I attended Sorensen, Lakes, and graduated from Coeur d'Alene H.S. and University of Idaho. My husband and I are thrilled to live in this community and raise our 2 kids, Palmer & Emerson. I love to read, hike, camp, swim, ski, travel, and spend time with family and friends.
Everyone here at Sorensen is excited to foster a love of reading in every student, and in the library I spend lots of time talking about great books, reading great books, and teaching library skills. Guidance is given to our students as to reading level and reading appropriateness, but we do need your help. The books come in a variety of maturity and interest levels to meet the needs of all students.
Please talk with your child about the books he/she is reading. You know better than we do what is appropriate for them. You assistance is appreciated.
Please feel free to contact me, or come and visit.
