Ms. Patterson
    Hi Families!
I would like to welcome you and your child to Kindergarten at Ramsey Magnet School of Science. I have an exciting year planned for your child! I chose a career in teaching because I have a passion for working with children, and I strive to be a positive role model. I have been teaching at Ramsey since the fall of 2007. I graduated with honors from the University of Idaho with a Bachelor's degree in 2007. In 2010, I graduated with a Master's degree in Educational Leadership. I feel lucky to have the opportunity to fulfill my dream of becoming a teacher. I am fortunate to be able to do it with a wonderful and supportive group of teachers, parents, and children.
I was born and raised right here in beautiful Coeur d’Alene, Idaho where my family still resides. I am a proud mother of two amazing children. It is so much fun being a mom and watching as my children grow and learn new things. When I'm not in the classroom, I enjoy: spending time with my family and friends, hiking, camping, fishing, ATV riding, snowboarding, and traveling. I also enjoy going to sporting events such as football, baseball, and hockey games.

We will be learning many new things in Kindergarten.  The curriculum is fast paced, fun, engaging, task oriented, and proven to be successful. Each student is embraced as the special person they are. It is enjoyable helping students recognize their own potential as they continue to learn and grow. We will build a sense of community, teamwork, and trust so that students feel at ease in their learning environment. We have 3 Science kits in Kindergarten.  Our first one is Trees and Weather, our second is Materials and Motion, and our third is Animals Two by Two.

I believe that our communication is essential as we work together to provide the best learning environment and growth possible for your child.  Please feel free to call me at school or email me any time Ramsey:  765-2010 email:  jpatterson@cdaschools.org. I am looking forward to working with you and your child this coming school year!
