I am very excited about being your child's kindergarten teacher and spending this school year with them. I have been teaching for 29 years in the Coeur d'Alene School District. My career started at Ramsey Elementary as a reading teacher for 2 years, kindergarten teacher for 10 years, 1st grade teacher for 7 years and finally a third grade teacher for 2 years before making the move to Atlas Elementary 8 years ago. I really wanted to return to the kindergarten classroom and that's why I made the move to Atlas to become an Atlas Explorer.
I have lived in Coeur d'Alene since the late 70's and I attended Ramsey Elementary, Lakes Middle School and Coeur d'Alene High School. I am a graduate of Boise State University with an education degree and an endorsement in reading. My son is currently a sophomore in college and my daughter just graduated from college in Boston and, unfortunately for me, just accepted a job at the District Attorney's office, so I'm sure she won't be moving back home anytime soon. My bonus daughter is a senior in high school and my bonus son is a sophomore in high school.
Outside of school, you will find my husband and I watching my son running cross country, indoor track or outdoor track for his college. If there is snow on the ground, I like to keep up with my family scrapbooks and snuggle with our pets. You won't find me playing in the snow! I love to travel during school vacations, so I will either be in Arizona visiting my parents, traveling to Boston to visit my daughter or on a cruise ship. We like to take family cruises yearly and we have been to Jamaica, Belieze, Hondoras, Grand Cayman and all over Mexico.
I look forward to getting to know you and your children over this school year.
