Hello there! My name is Amy Wearne and I am a fifth grade teacher at wonderful Ramsey Magnet School of Science. I started at Ramsey in 2007 and each year seems to get better! I recieved my bachelors degree from Notre Dame de Namur University and then moved home to get my Masters Degree in Teaching from Washington State University.
Our classroom is built around hard work, goals, and exploration. With an upbeat, motivating atmosphere students feel free to be themselves and push one another to not only be a better learner but to be a better person. A great combination of high expectations, hard work, and collaboration make learning enjoyable. We strive for excellence daily and obtain extraordinary often.
I am very anxious to put on our lab coats and dive into science throughout the year. Fifth graders will explore a wide range of subjects like: Earth and Sun, Living Systems, and Mixtures and Solutions. Students will also have the opportunity to take part in mini-science days, science assemblies and a classroom and individual science fair.
I have a wonderful husband, Justin, who is a Engineer/Fireman for the City of Coeur d’Alene, a beautiful boy named Brooks, and a darling little girl named Isla. We also have a huge black lab named Gunner, several chickens and a duck. We are a very active family and have completed Ironmans, marathons, and enjoy coaching Crossfit and using it as our daily exercise. We love anything sports related and enjoy the outdoors immensely.
