Welcome to Ramsey Speech and Language Therapy!
I’m so excited to be serving my first year as a speech-language pathologist full-time at Ramsey Elementary! I completed my Master of Science in Communication Disorders at Eastern Washington University in 2015.
The speech-language therapy program is available to students who meet specific criteria of a moderate-to-severe speech or language impairment. Difficulty in the area of speech includes incorrect production of speech sounds that are no longer typical of peers and interfere with a student’s ability to progress in the curriculum. Additional speech impairment includes difficulty speaking fluently or with a clear and audible voice. Difficulty in the area of oral language includes inability to understand classroom directions or grade level vocabulary and/or in the ability to communicate ideas clearly in a socially appropriate manner. Students with suspected speech or language impairment will receive speech therapy services within the school day. Services will be coordinated with teachers, parents and students in order to best meet each student’s individual needs.
I look forward to a great year of teaching and learning with your child. If you have a question or concern about your child’s speech and language please first discuss this with your child’s teacher. If you have any questions about your child’s speech therapy program, please don’t hesitate to contact me at 765-2010.
