Welcome to 5th grade!  I am so excited to be apart of your and/or your child's education this year!
    A Little About Me:
This is my 12th year of teaching and I can't imagine doing anything else!  Previously, I taught at Skyway Elementary, 1st and 4th grade for three years each, then I spent 6 years teaching 6th grade at Lake Middle School!  I am excited to be teaching at the eSchool this year!  Prior to teaching, I graduated in May 2009 from the University of Maine with a B.S. in elementary (K-8) education.  Why Maine?  I was there on a volleyball scholarship for four years and enjoyed my time on the east coast.  I was born and raised here in Coeur d' Alene and am happy to be back!   I also have earned my Educational Leadership (AKA Principal) degree from the University of Idaho in 2017.  Besides teaching, I also am also certified to teach yoga and I continuously play and coach volleyball.  My husband and I got married in 2016.  We have a 3-year-old son, who loves tractors and anything construction, and a 1-year-old daughter who brings joy and giggles to our home each and every day.  We also have two wonderful 4 legged children, Koko, a 9-year-old Pitbull/Lab mix, and Ruby, a 3-year-old Golden Retriever puppy.   I love to stay active and live a healthy lifestyle and promote this in the classroom.   In 2013, I became an Ironman for the first time, and was crazy enough to do it again in 2015!  Both were amazing experiences and I also have competed in many other triathlon and nontriathlon activities throughout the last few summers.  I strongly encourage you to check in on Schoology daily and please contact me (email is best) with any questions or concerns anytime.  I look forward to spending the year with your student!
    Some of my favorite things:

The best way to reach me is through email.  Ahofer@cdaschools.org I check my email at least twice a day at school and try to check it once at home and on the weekends.
