    About the Teacher

    Lena Cooley has been teaching various subjects for 20 years including Art, Psychoglogy, English, and Career and Technical Education classes.  Before becoming a teacher, she spent over 15 years working in the Advertising/Marketing industry, including owning her own small agency.  
     
    When not preparing for class, Lena participates in a number of unique activities including, a professional Zombie for Z-Nation, an avid soccer fan, and attending Renaissance Faires.  She is also invovled in numberous non-profit organizations including 2nd Harvest Food Bank, Spokane Entertainer's Guild, and Spokane Youth Soccer.
     

    Teaching Philosophy

    Education is not necessarily the learning of informaiton, but learning how to learn.  In the ever changing global world of technolgy, understanding how to be a self-learner and adapt to change is the key to a succesful career.  By providng a safe environement for the student to experiment, make mistakes and experience success, they learn the value of empowerment and become the creators of their own destiny.
