• Welcome to Lakes Middle School and Mrs. Brown's 6th grade Social Studies class!  We will study ancient civilizations, current events and geography.

    A little bit about me....

I am starting my 27th year here at Lakes... I live in the woods south of town with my husband Bob.   We have been married for 35 years, and we have two grown children.  We started out in Billings Montana and moved to Coeur d'Alene in 1990.   I am a grandma to my son's two beautiful boys. My daughter is married and is expecting my 3rd grandson in December!

I love learning especially learning about the world we live in past and present.  This year we are going to focus on applying thinking strategies to our social studies content.  I am also going to incorporate games played during the ancient civilizations along with games from different continents.

A word about 6th grade Exploratory:  Exploratory is an opportunity for students to experience different contents and meet upper grade level teachers.

The following are Exploratory offerings:   PE, Digital Citizenship, Brain Games, Art, Woodshop.

Advisory in only on Monday.  Most students have 1st period class as their Advisory class.

Discovery Classes are Tuesday through Friday.

Trail Creek will be in October.  More information will be given out at Parent Information Night.
