• Daniel Schmidt Hello and welcome to my Home page. This is my third year at Lake City High School. I am an Eastern Washington University graduate with a B.A.E. In Secondary Mathematics. I also completed my Masters degree from Concordia University in 2016.

I am originally from the Spokane Valley graduating from University High School in 1986. I have 4 children, two girls (29 and 22) and two boys (26 and 18). My children have been my main focus outside of work over the years. However they have grown up and it is just me and my youngest son at home anymore. My two oldest children have graduated from college and are pursuing there lifes dreams.

Teaching is my second career. I was a sheet metal worker for over 20 years working for various companies in the Inland Northwest. I also lived in Boise Idaho from 1995 to 2000. In 2000 I moved back to the Spokane area and became a teacher for the Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee in the sheet metal industry. At that point I decided to return to college and get my Secondary Math degree.

I am currently the Department Chair, on the Guiding Coalition, MTSS, and a peer and student mentor. I looking forward to a great year!
This year I am teaching Math 143/144 College Algebra through the University of Idaho, Math 170 Calculus through the University of Idaho, AP Calculus AB, and Honors Math 3. I also have one student in independent study for AP Calculus BC.

I will also be using the Judicious Discipline model for classroom managment authored by Drs. Forrest and Paul Gathercoal. http://www.dock.net/gathercoal/judicious_discipline.html
