• Welcome to Ms. Chapman's art classes!
This is my 23rd year teaching art at LCHS, where I am currently teaching Painting 1, 2, and 3, AP Art History, AP Studio Art, and Art 1. I earned my B.A. in Art Education from University of Oregon, and my Master's in Secondary Education from University of Idaho. I've been painting most of my life but also enjoy working with mixed media.

Students, I am looking forward to getting to know you and making this a great school year. You will find that for each skill level we build in class, we'll have multiple practice opportunities before a graded project is turned in, so you'll have the chance to explore, experiment and ask questions. Expectations for assignments will be made clear and a grading rubric posted with each assignment will help you understand how to meet the expectations. A course syllabus for each current class is available under the "Class Information" page, and I also provide a paper copy to each student on the first day of class.

Parents, I encourage you to feel free to email or call or schedule a visit for a conference. You, your child and I can work together to be sure they are hitting growth targets, finding success in my classroom, and learning to appreciate art for a lifetime. I would love to see you at Open House, Parent-Teacher conferences, or schedule a meeting where we can go over your student's progress and needs.

If you have any questions about class assignments or content, feel free to email me at:  cchapman@cdaschools.org
