Welcome to Ms. Sampson's Third Grade!

This is my 10th year at Hayden Meadows Elementary and my 9th year as a 3rd grade educator. I absolutely love this age as the kids are so eager to learn and to be successful. They are also full of life and personality which truly makes each day in our classroom a gift. Third grade is one of the biggest learning experiences in content as well as for the kids developmentally. I am always amazed to see the chilren grow as a learner and a friend throughout the year. It is absolutly amazing and beyond rewarding.

  • Welcome to Third Grade! Third grade is such a monumental year. The students come in as 2nd graders and leave as 4th graders, which means we have quite the bridge to cross. My role is to be as positive, supportive, and be the most effective practioner that I can. In everyway, I will provide the students with successful and exciting opportunities to excel. I feel that it is extremely important to have a strong foundation of communications between the classroom and home. I have a classroom environment that feels safe, respectful, and high expectations. My students are successful because of the climate built from the first day of school. As we embark as a district the Idaho Common Core State Standards, I will bridge the old to the new as seamless as possible, making you students education of the highest of quality. I can't wait to build a relationship with every third grade family!

  • Please make sure they read at least 15 minutes at home daily.

Talk about what they are reading to build comprehension and make it fun!

I encourage you expose your children to different types of text and talk about the purpose of the literature.

We will be moving from learning how to read to reading for information.

Practice multiplication and division facts daily.

Talk to your children about being problem solvers, how to be respectful, and having confidence to share their ideas.
