I am privileged to be an instrumental music director in the Coeur d'Alene school district. Our students give me great hope for our future. Every day is filled with adventure, laughter, and great musical progress.I am married to an awesome lady from Southern Idaho and we have three amazing adult children. In the past, I have worked at a taco stand, the YMCA, and as a State of Idaho seed potato inspector. However, the last 27 years of teaching music have been the best ever.
I have a B.A. in music theory and music education from Northwest Nazarene University and an M.A. in music composition from Washington State University (Go Cougs!). I have been teaching secondary instrumental/vocal music in the Idaho Public Schools since 1992. I accepted this Canfield Middle School position in the year 2000.
We want to welcome you to our recently remodeled facility! Canfield is an awesome, safe, high achieving place. The staff is professional, fun, and totally invested in the fun work of helping our students. As a member of our Canfield instrumental music groups, the basic expectations are that you would come prepared for rehearsal, be working daily at home to improve, and commit to our group performances. Make sure you have the tools for success every day in our team rehearsals. A working, good quality instrument, applicable music, method book, and postive mental attitude will ensure your success and will increase your level of happiness in our classroom.
