This will be the fifth year that we have used the barcode system with the student textbooks.  The program has been a huge success and has been able for us to track textbooks easily.

Each student has textbooks checked out to them through their barcoded ID card or Barcode on their student handbook.  Students are responsible for keeping the textbooks they have been checked out in a safe and good condition.  Students that lose or damage the textbook will be charged for the missing textbook or charged for the damage.  If a student turns in a textbook that is not checked out to them it will be checked back in or returned to the correct student.

Last year the majority of textbooks that students thought that they lost were actually found and turned in, so this system has been very benificial to students.
