Kelsey Cordes-Snyder

Hello Sorensen Families!

My name is Kelsey Cordes-Snyder (I go by Miss C.S.) and I am the Special Education Teacher here at Sorensen Magnet School for the Arts and Humanities! I am so excited to be a part of this amazing school after doing my student teaching here in 1st Grade and extensive substitute teaching throughout the building. This school really holds a special place in my heart as I went here as an elementary student. Some of my fondest childhood memories were playing the marimbas and learning how to juggle.

I attended North Idaho College and got my degree in Early Childhood Development. I then went to University of Idaho where I received my degree in Early Childhood Development and Education with an emphasis in Special Education. I am passionate about art integration, making sure each student has the support and resources to thrive, and fostering a community of respect, agency, and kindness.

Outside of the classroom you can often find me walking my dog Rosie, often by the lake. I also love tending to my plants, watercolor painting, reading, and traveling, both regionally and around the world. I love living in Coeur d’ Alene where not only can we find beauty in the outdoors but in our amazing local arts scene.

Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions and I look forward to partnering with you this year!
