    Welcome to Kindergarten!

I am so happy to have all of your wonderful children in my class this year. I know we will have
a spectacular year full of learning adventures!

Our class website is a great place to look for information about our classroom.  I post
newsletters and homework (later in the year)  to our site.  I also post important dates, schedules, and website links.  I do not require students or parents to use our classroom website, but it is a valuable resource for families.
Please feel free to contact me with questions or concerns.  I do my best to get back to parents promptly.  E-mail is by far the easiest way to reach me (I check it at least twice a day) but you may also contact me via phone. Communication is key in ensuring your child has the best school year possible.  Together we will make this an exceptional year.

Thank you for taking the time to investigate our website.

    A Little About Ms. Semko

This is my 10th year at Skyway Elementary and my 11th year of teaching. I love being part of the Skyway family! I have taught kindergarten, 3rdgrade, and 2nd grade-all of which I have loved.

I have lived in Coeur d’ Alene most of my life.   I went to two elementary schools here (Borah and Ramsey), two middle schools (Lakes and Canfield), and two high schools (Coeur d' Alene and Lake City). I even attended  the University of Idaho in Coeur d' Alene and received my B.S. in elementary education.  Recently our little family bought a home in Spokane!  We love living the city life, but are often in Coeur d' Alene with our family and friends.

My husband (Jeremy) and I have one fabulous 4 year old, Leopold.  We nearly have a zoo at our home.  We  have a miniature Australian Shepherd, Mortimer,  a kind kitty named Sweetness, 3 rats (Hippolyta, Penelope, and Adelaide), 4 little tree frogs (Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, Michaelangelo, Splinter), a hoard of crawfish, and several pond fish and snails. I can't wait for you to meet my family!

Teaching is a huge part of my life and my passion. Parents, please feel free to contact me about anything regarding your child, our school, or our classroom. I will attempt to be available to you when it is most convenient for you. Your child’s learning is of the utmost importance to me.

I am looking forward to working with all of you this year.
