Hi Everyone!!!

My name is Kelly, the students know me as Miss. Garrett. My position here at Borah is Family & Community Social Worker. My role is to bridge the gap between home and school. I work closely with parents, guardians and caretakers to ensure students are ready to learn when they arrive here each day. That may encompass the physical, mental, emotional and/or spiritual well-being of all students. I am also available to assist with challenges at home and am happy to make home visits, provide resources and walk side by side with families experiencing difficulties. 

My educational background consists of a Masters Degree in Social Work and a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice. I have had the honor of working side by side with children and families, singles and Veterans experiencing homelessness at St. Vincent de Paul in CDA. Prior to my position at Borah, I worked for the State of Washington as a Social Worker for many years. I had the pleasure of serving folks struggling with severe co-occuring mental health challenges, as well as our beloved elderly population.
