    Hello All!

I want to take a quick moment to introduce myself. I am Kerry McGrath the art teacher at Ramsey. I am very excited to be a part of the dynamic team of teachers and learners.

I am a North Idaho native although I spent some time growing up in The Dalles, OR. I have three grown kids, two beautiful grandsons and a granddaughter on the way.

I have 13 years experience of classroom teaching (1st-5th grades, mostly 3rd).
This is my third year as an art teacher,  and it is my 16th yr teaching. I have a Master's Degree in Arts Integrated Curriculum and Instruction. Art is a passion of mine, and I deeply believe that inclusion of the arts into what kids learn is powerful!

This year your child will learn the Elements of Art, how to talk about art, to discover who they are as artists, build confidence, take risks, and how to work togther.  It is critical that we are positive influences on our peers. Art is deeply personal, and we want to foster artists who are willing to share who they are through art.

My goal is that each student realize they are an artist, are willing to take risks, and know that they can do anything-it just takes practice!

I will be using Artsonia again this year. For those of you who don't know about Artsonia, it is a place where I can upload your child's art work and you can purchase a variety of items with the artwork on it: t-shirts, mugs, masks, prints, etc... All work is private unless you choose to invite familiy members to view or if you choose to make it public. Please make sure to watch for an email with information on how to sign up.

    Cheers!
