Mrs. Jody Hiltenbrand is delighted to be in her sixth year at Dalton Elementary School as the principal. Mrs. Hiltenbrand was previously the vice principal and athletic director at Canfield Middle School for three years. Before that, she spent over a year at Ramsey Magnet School of Science as the vice principal. Prior to becoming an administrator, Mrs. Hiltenbrand spent twelve-and-a-half years in the classroom, eleven of which were at Canfield Middle School teaching eighth-grade language arts. She began her teaching career in Buckeye, Arizona, teaching seventh-grade language arts. This year marks her 22nd year in education. 

Mrs. Hiltenbrand was born and raised in Butte, Montana. She is married to a Coeur d’Alene fire captain/paramedic, and they have a 14-year-old daughter in ninth grade at Lake City High School and an 11-year-old son in seventh grade at Canfield Middle School. She and her husband are active in the community and feel blessed to call this area home. Mrs. Hiltenbrand enjoys spending time with friends and family as well as reading, traveling, and exercising. One highlight for her in 2022 was taking her family and parents to Ireland over Thanksgiving. 

Mrs. Hiltenbrand was a Dalton Elementary School parent for many years before and during her leadership at the school. She knows Dalton is an exceptional place. She looks forward to working closely with the stellar staff, students, and families for the 2023-24 school year.
