The Idaho Commission for Libraries has sponsored Idaho Family Reading Week (Nov. 14-18), a celebration of families reading together, for 20 years. This year's theme is "Laugh It Up!" at your local school/public library. A reading passport will be coming home this week with your child that will include activities encouraging support and development of literacy as a family. When the completed passport is brought back (with at least 5 activities mentioned) during the readers designated library time, it will then be turned in for a drawing that will take place on Nov. 18. If your reader gets a stamp on their passport from the Coeur d' Alene or Hayden public Library as well as the other activities mentioned, their name will be entered twice for the drawing. The prize this year is a Kindle Paperwhite provided by Dalton's very generous PTA!! Please take a moment to sit down with your reader and look through the passport for directions. Thank you for supporting literacy by partnering with your school/public libraries.
