A little about me...

My name is Eric Kendra, the Counselor at Fernan STEM Academy. I am excited about counseling at such an awesome school! There are a lot of learning and fun-engaging activities on the Fernan STEM campus. I enjoy teaching group lessons around our monthly character traits, and also working with students individually in helping to support their education.

When I'm not at Fernan STEM Academy, I enjoy spending time doing outdoor activities. Some of the things I like to do are hiking, fishing, hunting, and bike riding with my family.

What I do...

Fernan's school counseling program supports the educational, social, emotional and behavioral growth of every student.  This is accompolished in a variety of ways including: individual student check-ins, crisis intervention, classroom support, whole-class lessons, small group lessons, and community referrals.  We have several programs at Fernan to assist with the needs of our students.  It is very important to me to be accessible and visible to all students, so I strive to be on the playground and in classrooms as often as possible.  Student 504 plans are a big part of my job, as well as providing support to parents and teachers.  Students can be referred to the counselor by teachers, administrators, other school staff, parents, or they can self-refer.  If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.
