Since joining Woodland Middle School in 2008, I have been passionately involved in shaping young minds in the field of STEM education. My journey as an educator began in 2003, and over the years, I have transitioned from teaching science to spearheading the junior engineering program. This dynamic role allows me to introduce students to the fascinating world of engineering, where we harness tools like lathes, CNC machines, laser cutters, and 3D printers to create both basic and advanced mechanical projects.
My experience of teaching science for most of my career has enriched my approach to educating in Junior Engineering. I believe in fostering an environment where students are encouraged to be innovative and creative, exploring the endless possibilities within STEM fields. The joy of witnessing students turn abstract concepts into tangible realities is immeasurable. In my classroom, every day is an opportunity to inspire and be inspired, as we delve into the practical aspects of engineering, blending theory with hands-on experience.
My commitment to education goes beyond the curriculum; it's about igniting a lifelong passion for learning and discovery in each of my students, equipping them with the skills and confidence to pursue their dreams in the ever-evolving world of science and technology.
