    Welcome to the 2019-20 School Year!

    2019-20 Registraion IMPORANT Information if you missed the August 21st Registraion/BBQ

    If you missed the Venture High School Registration and BBBQ on August 21st, you MUST come into the school office NO LATER than August 27th to register in person, or you will be unenrolled for this 2019-20 school year.  Office hours are from 8am-3pm.  Please call the office if you have any questions or concerns.

    First day of school

    The first day of school is Tuesday, September 3, 2019.  If you registered after August 21st, please pick your schedule up first thing in the morning.

    There WILL BE school for Venture High School Students Monday, September 9th

    Venture High School students WILL attend school on Monday, September 9th, 2019.  Please make note of the Monday Late Start bus schedule.

    Heritage Health Bus 

    Venture High School is excited to announce that the Heritage Health Mobile Clinic will be at Venture again this year.  Please check back for days and times.  Students may access healthcare including vaccinations, flu shots, check for strep throat, ear infection, mono, STI, EKG, and minor injuries.  Prescriptions can be written and sent to the pharmacy.  While Medicaid usually covers expenses, insurance can be billed or, for those without insurance, a sliding scale based on family earnings is available.  No student will be refused care due to inability to pay.  Students should contact the front office or school nurse for an appointment.  Download the consent form now —

    COPE (Creating Opportunities for Personal Empowerment) Program

    Venture is proud to offer the COPE (Creating Opportunities for Personal Empowerment) program to our students.  This program is designed to help teens deal with stress, anxiety and depression by showing them how to develop the skills needed to stop negative thoughts and start thinking and behaving in more positive ways. The classes run for 7 consecutive weeks during 6th period (2:35-3:40). Please contact the school nurse or counselor to find out more information or when the next classes begin.     Our district has provided a FREE OverDrive account to all students and staff! Now you can check out eBooks using your personal computer, phone, tablet or iPad — at home or at school — from the CDA School District Overdrive website. The library is growing, so check back often for new arrivals! Log in with your school district username and password.     **FREE SCHOOL SUPPLIES**  Thanks to donations from local businesses and our Home on the Homefront team, backpacks, and school supplies are available this year for those in need.     Free & Reduced Meals for 2019-20

    Your children may be eligible for free or reduced-price lunches and breakfasts. Families that have previously qualified will need to reapply each year. Download the application or get more information on the School Nutrition Services department webpage.

    Clothing Closet: Students in need of clothing are welcome to contact Coeur Community Closet at Coeur d'Alene High School.

    Food and Essentials: Students can take advantage of food and other essentials at our Venture High School Food Bank.

    Mid-Year Residency Verification

    In order to make certain all our students receive appropriate educational supports, Coeur d’Alene School District 271 conducts a mid-year residency verification. Residency is defined as where your family sleeps at night. Has your residency changed since September 4, 2018? If yes AND if any of the following statements are true for your family, please contact your school counselor or the Coeur d’Alene School District McKinney-Vento Liaison, James Curb at 208-664-8241 ext. 10061 or for more information about educational services that may be available to your student(s) and family.

    • We are doubled up with friends, grandparents, or other family due to economic condition.

    • We are living in a motel/hotel because other housing is unattainable.

    • We are living in a domestic violence shelter.

    • We are living in transitional housing.

    • We are sleeping in public places or abandoned buildings.

    • We are living in a car, trailer or campground.

    • We are living in a home for pregnant or unwed mothers

    The Flu: A Guide for Parents

    The Flu: A guide to Sending Your Child to School

    9-1-1 Call if you Can - Text if you Can't

    In limited areas of the United States, texting 911 is now an option for reporting a police, fire, or medical emergency. Text 911 should only be used in an emergency when you can't safely call 911. Always call 911 if you can.
