The globally recognized college entrance exam — the SAT (Scholastic Assessment Test) — is provided free of charge to all public school high school Juniors in Idaho. In order to prepare, students will also receive a free subscription to The Official SAT Online Course™, available through your school.
The SAT comprises two exams - Evidence-based Reading and Writing and Mathematics as well as an essay. Together, they represent a suite of tools designed to assess a student's academic readiness for college. These exams provide a path to opportunities, financial support, and scholarships, in a way that's fair...while identifying what colleges are looking for today, measuring the skills required for success in the 21st century.
Please note that Idaho initiated a statewide initiative in 2012 whereby all students in Idaho were required to take a college entrance exam for graduation. The Coeur d'Alene School District initiated our College and Career Preparedness Pathway in 2011 to provide the PSAT and other preparation materials.
