Welcome to the Atlas Library!
Hello, and welcome to the Atlas Library! My favorite genres to read are Fantasy, Historical Fiction, and Biographies; I have been the Atlas Librarian since 2010. I live on ten acres just north of Hayden with my husband, dog, chickens, and local wildlife. My hobbies include backpacking, exploring, and cooking. I graduated in 2005 from Kansas State University with a B.S. in Sociology, along with a minor in Women's Studies, emphasis on Families. My claim to fame is helping Darren Sproles (former NFL Eagles Runningback) pass Economic Botany. GO WILDCATS!
Follow the Library Facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/Atlas-Library-195400121159815/; and/or the Instagram: atlas.library.
Library class consists of story-time, library lessons, check-out, and reading their “new” books. Occasionally, we do fun projects or STEM activities. Watch for pictures on the social media pages! I do my best to make sure each student has an age-appropriate and reading-level-appropriate book to read when they leave the library, but if you have concerns, please contact me. Students K - 5th grade take books home and are welcome to exchange any time, not just at their weekly library class.
See what your student has checked out from the library https://library.cdaschools.org and choose Atlas Elementary. Then log in with your student’s school username and password, which you can find in their Skyward account under Student Access Login and the password is: their Student ID #Pw. If you have any questions or need help, please email me at: firstname.lastname@example.org , and I’ll be happy to make an appointment to walk you through it.
Remember that library fines (the cost of a lost book) do not just go away, they follow your students through their middle and high school careers, so take care of those before you leave Atlas Elementary!
