Welcome to Mr. Jerome's class!
Hi, my name is Mark Jerome and I am excited to be the Advanced Learning Program teacher this year at Atlas Elementary. This is my 17th year as a teacher in the district and my 14th at Atlas. I am looking forward to a great year with your student filled with exciting and interesting learning opportunities. One of my goals is to make learning fun! I am a graduate of North Idaho College and Gonzaga University, where I earned my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. Go Zags!I have a philosophy that students, teachers, and parents are all valuable members of the same learning team. As your child’s teacher I agree to set high expectations and help your child to strive to meet them. My hope is that parents also participate in their student's educational experience. I also believe that consistency and communication between teachers and parents is essential for a great learning experience. My goal is to provide a safe and comfortable family-type environment that promotes trust amongst each other and encourages learning.
“The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires.”
Reading Logs go home every Monday. They are due completed every Friday. The expectation is that your student reads for at least 20 minutes each night at home and fills out the log including the summary. This is one of the most important things you can promote with your student.
