Karissa Wise
Hello! My name is Karissa Wise and I am honored to be your child’s kindergarten teacher! Kindergarten is near and dear to my heart; it is where a passion for learning begins and I am lucky to be on this journey with you and your child.
I received my bachelor’s degree in education through Lewis-Clark State College, and my master’s degree in curriculum and instruction of reading through Grand Canyon University. I have a passion for reading and for teaching young learners foundational reading skills so they become lifelong readers! This is my first year teaching at Dalton, but my fifth year with the district. I previously taught kindergarten at NExA. In my opinion, there is no better grade to teach!
I have been married to my husband, Kyle, for 11 years. We have two children that also attend Dalton: our son, Beckham, is in 4th grade, and our daughter, Kennedy, is in 2nd grade. I grew up in Coeur d’Alene so teaching in my hometown is something I value deeply!
When I am not teaching, I can be found outdoors with my family! We love to hike, camp and be on the lake. We also fill our days with music, books, golf and soccer!
