Bus Registration and Routes

All students who ride the bus for school need to register online each year. This year, our routes have changed. You will need to look up your student's bus route number and bus stop location prior to registering them. Visit https://www.cdaschools.org/transportation and look for "Find Your Bus Route." You also will find links to the rider registration sites on that page.

There's a separate registration form for kindergarten students, and kindergarten bus routes begin September 19, the third week of school.

For CDA Early Learning Center students and students in special education: Please contact your child’s teacher to make arrangements for riding the bus. Please review our bus rules and etiquette, and our discipline plan, at https://www.cdaschools.org/transportation

School Meal Prices

For the past two school years, we were able to provide free breakfast and lunch for all students because of federal funding during the pandemic. As that program has come to a close, we are returning to our standard Nutrition Services meal program. Some families will still qualify for free or reduced-price meals if they complete and submit an application. To do that, visit https://cdaschoolsnutrition.com/ and select the Free/Reduced Price School meals button.

Here are the meal prices for this school year:

To prepay for your student's meals, use our e-Funds online payment system, which you can find by logging into your Skyward Family Access account. You also can find e-Funds at https://cdaschoolsnutrition.com/ or on the Coeur d'Alene Public Schools mobile app.

You will find a "Lunch Menus" button near the top of all school websites. Menus will also be posted on our Nutrition Services website, and on our mobile app. Download our app on Google Play or the Apple App Store.

Immunizations

Start off the school year strong with immunizations that protect your child from infectious disease. Chickenpox, measles and whooping cough spread quickly, and children should be protected before they enter preschool, kindergarten and all other grade levels.

Idaho’s school immunization requirements are intended to protect children from those diseases as well as diphtheria, tetanus, mumps, rubella, polio and hepatitis. In addition to immunizations for kids entering kindergarten and first grade, students entering Grade 7 need their booster shot, Tdap and meningitis vaccines. Students entering 12th grade need a Meningococcal booster. You may find a link to the 2022-23 Guide to Idaho School Immunization Requirements on our website at cdaschools.org/immunizations

Please provide a copy of your student’s updated vaccination record for their school.

Panhandle Health District offers back-to-school immunizations by appointment. Call or text (208) 415-5270 Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.

Pursuant to Idaho Code 39-4802, parents may submit to school officials a signed statement exempting their student from any or all of the required immunizations for medical reasons or for religious or other objections. Medical exemptions must be signed by a physician licensed by the state board of medicine. A copy of the exemption form is available on our Health Services page listed above.

Open Houses

One of the best ways to prepare for the new school year is to attend your school's open house. Meet teachers and administrators, find classrooms and lockers, drop off classroom supplies, collect important information about the new year, discover ways to volunteer, and reconnect with friends.

All middle schools will host open house nights on August 30, and all elementary schools host their open houses on August 31. Our Early Learning Center has its open house on Sept. 8.

Coeur d'Alene High School will host its open house for all students on August 30. Lake City High School will have an open house for freshmen and new students on August 30, and for everyone on Sept. 15.

Be sure you have a copy of our 2022-23 school calendar, which notes holidays, winter and spring breaks, parent-teacher conference dates, early release days, and no-school days.

Remember that school starts one hour later on Mondays to give school staff time for collaboration and planning.

Volunteer

If you plan to visit a classroom or volunteer in a school this year, please bring your photo ID with you. We use the Raptor system to screen all visitors and volunteers who enter our buildings during the school day.

Raptor screens for registered sex offenders in all 50 states. Additionally, you can help keep our schools safe by always using the secure, buzz-in entrance; signing in and out when visiting a school; wearing your visitor badge or sticker at all times; and never opening locked doors for others. Schoology and tech support

Our student learning management system is called Schoology, pronounced skoo’-luh-jee. Students can access courses, assignments and class content by logging into one place. They can view their grades, submit assignments, complete assessments, collaborate within groups, manage calendars and communicate with teachers. Returning students already should have their Schoology log-ins, and we will provide access to Schoology for all new students.

Job Openings. Come work for us!

Consider working for Coeur d’Alene Public Schools, possibly in your own student’s school! We are hiring for part-time and full-time positions.

Classified job openings include elementary classroom assistants, kitchen managers, playground assistants, crossing guards, special education paraprofessionals, custodians, bus drivers, administrative assistants, and positions with our before-school/after-school child care program, School PLUS. Some classified positions are for managers and coordinators as well.

We have 12 certified openings as well, including teachers, nurses, speech-language pathologist, psychologist and school social worker.

See Something, Say Something!

Students and families have a big role in helping keep their schools safe. Report threats or dangerous behavior, including fighting, bullying, drugs and online threats, using the District’s mobile app, or using the TIP LINE link found on all school websites. Please have a conversation with your student about how important it is to report potential safety issues, even if they feel something might be fake or a joke. Student tips have prevented violence, self-harm and threatening behavior. If you see something, say something!
