Dr. Stanley Olson

Interim Superintendent

Dr. Stanley Olson is serving as Interim Superintendent of Coeur d'Alene Public Schools for the 2017-18 school year, while the Board of Trustees conducts a national search for a permanent superintendent. Stan is a longtime educator who served as superintendent of the Boise School District for eight years. Stan also has served as a teacher, coach, principal, director of community education, director of communications, assistant superintendent and adjunct faculty member. He has a Doctor of Education degree in Educational Leadership from Western Michigan University.

Dr. Trina Caudle

Director of Secondary Education

Dr. Trina Caudle has worked in the Coeur d'Alene School District since the summer of 2014.  As Director of Secondary Education, Trina supervises the district’s middle schools, high schools, and Professional-Technical Programs.  Trina also oversees other secondary education programs such as school improvement plans, accreditation, counselors, instructional coaches, Advanced Learning and school safety.  Trina received her Bachelor and Doctorate Degrees from the University of Idaho, her Master’s Degree from the University of Alaska, and her Education Specialist Degree from Idaho State University.

Dr. Kate Orozco

Director of Elementary Education

Dr. Kate Orozco began her work with Coeur d'Alene School District during the summer of 2015.  She has been an educator and administrator in Washington, Nebraska, and Montana.  As Director of Elementary Education, Kate supervises the district’s ten elementary schools.  Kate also oversees other elementary education programs such as school improvement plans, counselors, instructional coaches, ALP, school safety and others.  Kate received her Bachelors, Masters, and Doctorate Degrees from Gonzaga University, and has received her Education Specialist Degree and administrative certifications from the University of Nebraska and from the State of Montana.

Chris Shipley

Director of Finance and Operations

Chris Shipley is our Director of Finance and Operations. Chris spent his previous 10 years working nearby at Magnuson McHugh & Company as their director of audits and assurance services. Chris is a graduate from the Moscow School District and holds Bachelor of Science degrees in Economics and Finance from the University of Idaho. Chris is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and is an active board member of the Idaho Society of CPAs.

Amy Clark

Director of Special Education

Amy Clark has worked in the Coeur d’Alene School District since the fall of 2000, holding positions as a School Psychologist and Autism Consultant, providing evaluation, consultation, direct service, and training to school teams, children with disabilities, and families. Amy began working as the Director of Special Education for the Coeurd'Alene School District 271 in August of 2014. Amy received her Bachelor Degree, Master’s Degree, and Specialist in Education Degree at the University of Nebraska, Omaha. This included coursework, research, and practical experience at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in the Developmental Pediatric and Pediatric Psychology Departments of the Monroe-Meyer Institute.

Anna Wilson

Director of Title Programs

Anna Wilson served the Coeur d’Alene School District for over 20 years in a variety of roles including middle school language arts and reading teacher, middle school assistant principal, and elementary principal.  In her current position, Anna oversees a variety of support programs for students including reading and math interventions, McKinney-Vento (homeless) services, Indian Education, and students qualified as neglected or delinquent. Her support of staff includes professional development and new teacher mentorship. She also serves as the District 504 Coordinator.  Anna received her Bachelors Degree from Eastern Washington University and Masters Degree in Educational Leadership at the University of Idaho.

Director of Curriculum and Assessment

A graduate of Coeur d’Alene Public Schools, Dr. Mike Nelson works with district educators to provide current and relevant teaching materials and verifies that students are working to meet or exceed district and state standards. Idaho’s Milken National Educator from 2005, Mike is also responsible for our district’s assessment program, curriculum-related professional development, and works with our Technology and Special Education departments to ensure student engagement. He holds six degrees from the University of Idaho in Spanish, broadcast journalism, curriculum, technology, administration and holds a doctorate of philosophy in educational leadership.

Director of Communications

Scott Maben is the district’s Director of Communications. Before joining Coeur d'Alene Schools in June 2017, Scott was a news reporter and editor for over 25 years. Most recently he was the Business Editor at The Spokesman-Review and previously managed the newspaper's Coeur d’Alene bureau as Deputy City Editor. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in journalism from the University of Oregon School of Journalism and Communication. Scott and his wife Carolyn have lived in Coeur d'Alene since 2006. They have two children.

Kelly Ostrom

Director of Human Resources

Kelly Ostrom was hired to the Coeur d’Alene School District in 1988. Kelly graduated from CdA High School and continued her education to earn a Bachelor Degree from Lewis-Clark State College in 1997 with a Management Major. She has completed special course work in Employment and Education Law to include: Americans with Disabilities; Fair Labors Standards; Workers Compensation; Sexual Harassment; Wrongful Termination; Investigations; etc. Kelly currently serves as the Human Resource Director and Title IX Coordinator for the District.

Seth Deniston

Director of Technology

Seth Deniston came to the district in 2014 from the Issaquah School District near Seattle.  He has been in education for 12 years,  as a teacher, an educational technology specialist, and now as an administrator.  Seth oversees technology operations and instructional technology, collaborating with teachers and administrators on utilizing technology with our students to improve student learning and engagement. He holds Bachelor's degrees in Journalism and Political Science from the University of Washington, and a Master’s in Teaching from Washington State University.
