Matthew Handelman has played a major leadership role with the Coeur d’Alene School District since joining the team in the summer of 2010. Mr. Handelman was chosen in the fall of 2013 by the Board to take on the role as permanent Superintendent. Prior to that, he served as interim superintendent for approximately six months. Mr. Handelman has also served as the district’s Associate Superintendent. He has also served in the role of curriculum director and director of elementary education, overseeing the alignment of curriculum, instruction and assessment (preK-12) to help ensure a quality education for all Coeur d'Alene Public School students.

Kate Orozco began her work with Coeur d'Alene School District during the summer of 2015. She has been an educator and administrator in Washington, Nebraska, and Montana. As Director of Elementary Education, Kate supervises the district’s ten elementary schools. Kate also oversees other elementary education programs such as school improvement plans, counselors, instructional coaches, ALP, school safety and others. Kate received her Bachelors, Masters, and Doctorate Degrees from Gonzaga University, and has received her Education Specialist Degree and administrative certifications from the University of Nebraska and from the State of Montana.

Trina Caudle has worked in the Coeur d'Alene School District since the summer of 2014. As Director of Secondary Education, Trina supervises the district’s middle schools, high schools, and Professional-Technical Programs. Trina also oversees other secondary education programs such as school improvement plans, accreditation, counselors, instructional coaches, Advanced Learning and school safety. Trina received her Bachelor and Doctorate Degrees from the University of Idaho, her Master’s Degree from the University of Alaska, and her Education Specialist Degree from Idaho State University.

Amy Clark has worked in the Coeur d’Alene School District since the fall of 2000, holding positions as a School Psychologist and Autism Consultant, providing evaluation, consultation, direct service, and training to school teams, children with disabilities, and families. Amy began working as the Director of Special Education for the Coeurd'Alene School District 271 in August of 2014. Amy received her Bachelor Degree, Master’s Degree, and Specialist in Education Degree at the University of Nebraska, Omaha. This included coursework, research, and practical experience at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in the Developmental Pediatric and Pediatric Psychology Departments of the Monroe-Meyer Institute

Anna has been with the Coeur d’Alene School District for 20 years in a variety of roles including; middle school language arts and reading teacher, middle school assistant principal, and elementary principal. Anna is currently the Director of Title Programs, which includes support for students who struggle in reading and math, professional development for staff, neglected and delinquent programs, and homeless students. Anna is also the District 504 Coordinator.

A graduate of Coeur d’Alene Public Schools, Mike works with district educators to provide current and relevant teaching materials and verifies that students are working to meet or exceed district and state standards. Idaho’s Milken National Educator from 2005, Mike is also responsible for our district’s new teacher induction program, professional development and works with our technology and special services departments to ensure student engagement.

Ms. Kelly Ostrom was hired with Coeur d’Alene School District in 1988. Ms. Ostrom graduated from CdA High School and continued her education to earn a Bachelor Degree from Lewis-Clark State College in 1997 with a Management Major. She has completed special course work in Employment and Education Law to include: Americans with Disabilities; Fair Labors Standards; Workers Compensation; Sexual Harassment; Wrongful Termination; Investigations; etc. Ms. Ostrom currently serves as the Human Resource Director and Title IX Coordinator for the District.

Seth came to the district in 2014 from the Issaquah School District near Seattle. He has been in education for 10 years, both as a teacher and an educational technology specialist. Seth oversees technology operations and instructional technology, collaborating with teachers and administrators on utilizing technology with our students to improve student learning and engagement.
