Math
  • Hello and welcome to my website! My name is Marcus Ross and this is my 2nd year teaching at Lakes! I am honored to have the opportunity to work with the amazing teachers that taught me throughout my middle school career. This school has the amazing capability of making you feel loved, understood, and important. I teach 8th grade math and ALP math. I also lead our Math is Cool program as well as the assistant coach for Cross Country.

While I am not in school, I love being active, hiking, or enjoying the outdoors. I am a huge fan of Frisbee golf, basketball, trail running, camping, and surrounding myself around loved ones. I have a new found love of traveling and learning about new cultures. I recently went to Iceland and loved every minute of it! My next adventure will take place in Belize as I teach literacy to Elementary school students!I was born and raised in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho with my 4 brothers and 1 sister. I attended Boise State University and graduated with my degree in Elementary Education with an Endorsement in Mathematics.

As a teacher, my goal is to educate young minds and help influence them to become the amazing leaders I know they are. For my students to enjoy life, become life long learners, to be positive, and find the beauty in this world. My teaching philosophy is that every student is special and has the ability to bring something new to my classroom. My job is to discover and empower that genius that is within each and every student.
