    Watch D.O.G.S. Program

Our Watch D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students) program will continue again this school year. It is a K-12 program that invites fathers, grandfathers, uncles, or other father figures to volunteer at least one day at their child’s/student’s school during the school year. Watch D.O.G.S. volunteers perform a variety of tasks during their volunteer day including greeting students in the morning, assisting with loading of buses and cars in the afternoon, monitoring the lunch room, playing on the playground, and helping in the classroom with a teacher’s guidance. Dalton students and teachers love Watch D.O.G.S.!! If you are interested in participating in this great program, please call Tami Frantzich at 208-772-5364, or email @ tfrantzich@cdaschools,org, to register and check for available dates.

    Personal Safety
Each May I teach Personal Safety in your child’s classroom. I choose to teach my Personal Safety lessons in the spring because families begin to get involved with so many more activities, you begin taking vacations, going to beaches, theme parks, etc. Activities where children may be alone or with friends, may get separated from the family, may be around strangers, etc. My main emphasis when I teach Personal Safety is that your children know their safety rules, that they always follow these rules and that they are discussing these rules with you on a regular basis . Personal Safety is a part of the district health curriculum and is offered to all elementary students throughout the district. If you would prefer that your child not participate in the Personal Safety lessons please sign this opt-out slip provided by the district and have your student return it to their classroom teacher.

    Thanks a million,

    Tami
