Welcome to my page. I have an exciting year planned for your child in 4th grade! This is my thirteenth  year of teaching elementary education, and my seventh year teaching fourth grade.  I also have experience teaching at the college level. I graduated with honors from the University of Montana with a bachelor's degree in 2006.  Shortly after graduating, my husband and I moved to Coeur d'Alene to be closer to our loving family.  I have two busy little boys ages 7 and 8, and I enjoy skiing, camping, hiking, biking, and spending my summers at the lake. Living in North Idaho has been a wonderful experience, and I am excited to share my love of nature and science with your child.

We will be learning many exciting things this year. Our curriculum is fast paced, fun, engaging, task oriented, and proven to be successful.  Regular classroom attendance and arriving to school on time is crucial in order to make the most of our classroom learning time. This will be a challenging and exciting year for all of us, but I know that your child can and will succeed!

My teaching philosophy is student centered with a positive approach to learning. I believe that hands-on activities and manipulatives are essential elements to learning, and having fun is of upmost importance!  I do not believe in busy work and only use worksheets as they benefit our curriculum goals. I teach through thematic units, cooperative learning, hands-on learning, projects, and music. I make it a point to give each and every student respect and fairness, and I ask the same from them in return.

I encourage you to check out the attachments and other useful information on this site. Also, please feel free to contact me with any questions about your child's learning experience. I am really looking forward to working with you!
