A driving force in education

The District's Transportation Department is headed by Jill Hill. Support in the office and on the road is lead by Nancy Wood and Lesli Hunt-Wood along with Joe Mares and Lynn Porter who perform district wide vehicle maintenance. In addition, there are 61 members of the community employed as drivers and assistants who come together to make it all happen.

The Department has 38 regular routes and 7 special service routes. The Department transports approximately 5000 students on a daily basis not including activity trips. There are over 20 schools in the CdA School District that use transportation services.

POSITION(S):   SUBSTITUTE BUS DRIVERS

Coeur d' Alene School District Transportation Department

 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

To drive a school bus route as assigned.

EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:

Preferred candidates will hold a Commercial Drivers License (C.D.L.) with a Passenger Endorsement and hold a current Idaho permit to operate a school bus.

PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Candidates must be able to see, drive and chain up a bus. Candidates must be able to pass a D.O.T. physical and test negative on a drug and alcohol test.

APPLICATION PROCESS:

Preliminary screening will be done on the basis of complete district applications and letters of interest. Finalists may be required to come in for a personal interview.  EMPLOYMENT:

Employment will begin immediately and is contingent upon Board approval. Salary will be based on the classified salary schedule starting a approximately $11.49 per hour.
