Who Are You? Activity During this acquaintance activity students
will take a digital photo of an interviewee and create a "Who You Are"
document.
The Elf Project Students will learn
how to apply the elements of narrative writing to produce fictional
narrative story about an elf character and his/her life at the North
Pole. Student will use creative thinking skills to develop the
character and a fictional story. Students will produce a Word
document of the story using proper formatting and inserting
graphics. Students will prepare a PowerPoint presentation depicting
the elf’s life and present to the class
The Giver Project This is a
supplemental unit that was adapted from Schools of California Online
Resources for Educators (SCORE). During the reading of The Giver,
students will research Library of Congress looking for both recent
and distant history. The student will then chart the history and
personalize 3 to 5 specific days of history. They will then move on
to examining global differences in rights and freedoms, collecting
and analyzing their data and ultimately writing a summary of their
findings. In order to inductively determine the importance of
personal choice, they will also make an interest inventory,
exploring careers linked to their interest and talents, and
preparing an outline for their future. The culminating activity will
present them with some insight into Lois Lowry's conclusion of the
book and will require them to write their own ending.
The Outsiders After reading The
Outsiders, students will create a wanted poster depicting either
Johnny or Ponyboy. Students will refer to the text when writing the
description of the boys and the crimes.

Using a Spreadsheet to Determine Mean, Median, and Mode Students
will collect and interpret data to be developed and presented as a
solution to a problem.

Boolean Searching Students will learn and practice effective
Advanced Search Techniques of an Internet search engine on a topic being
studied in the curriculum.
Citing Sources Students will create a bibliography,
appropriately citing sources.

Copyright Web Quest Create a
PowerPoint presentation from the information gathered during this web
quest.
Web Site Evaluation Using a “look for” list, students will

Biology PowerPoint Presentation Students
will publish and present a PowerPoint Presentation in one of the following
units: Kingdoms, Genetics, or Cellular Biology.

Historical Collaborative - Five Paragraph Expository Activity
Students will research a topic to be determined by the teacher using a
variety of resources. Students will then word process the final copy that
will contain a title page, five-paragraph expository text and a works
cited page.

review the process to log in, access their network drive, create/name
folders., save to their network drive, and access saved work on their
network drive.

Troubleshooting Computer Tips (TCT)
Students will practice good listening skills and participate in an
interactive review of troubleshooting techniques via student-produced
video clips.
Social/Ethical Responsibilities in School and
Workplace Using Media Arts Production Students will practice good
listening skills and participate in an interactive review of appropriate
technology use via student-produced video clips which address legal and
ethical issues and the appropriate method to cite resources.
Social/Ethical Responsibilities in School and
Workplace Students will be aware of and responsible for appropriate
use of technology equipment as well as possible consequences for misuse as
teacher reviews student handbook/agenda.
Technology in the Workplace and Society
Teachers will discuss the impact and influence technology brings to the
workplace and society. Students will be encouraged to share technological
advances to which they have been exposed.
