A Little About Me!
I am a native
Idahoan! Raised in Caldwell, ID, then graduated from Twin Falls High
School. My undergraduate degree is from The College of Idaho in
Elementary Education. My graduate degree is a Master of Science in
Education in Emotional Handicaps and Learning Disabilities.
My educational
career started at a private school in Miami, Florida teaching students
with learning disabilities, emotional handicaps and gifted and talented
for grades K-8th grade. I taught for 3 years in Boise, Idaho as a
co-director of a learning center at an elementary school. I taught
students K-6 grade with reading difficulties, learning disabilities,
spectrum disorders, and case manager of special education and gifted and
talented students. My journey then led me to Middleton, Id teaching in a
1st grade classroom. And finally, my path has led me to 1st grade at
Sorensen Magnet School of Arts & Humanities.
On my free time I enjoy outdoor
sports. I am known to have too many hobbies and not enough time. Sometimes
you might spot Mrs. W running in a race, biking, swimming in the lake,
or hiking in the mountains with Mr. W and our two dogs, Booker and Katie
Jo. On raining days, I love scrap booking and reading a good book with
a cup of coffee!

Welcome to Mrs. Woitas'
Site!
This is my eighth
year teaching at Sorensen. I have had the opportunity to teach second
and third grade and this is my fifth year teaching first grade. I've
been married to my husband, Ben, for seventeen years. We have two
children, Dan and Jesse, and one grandchild, Natalie.
I grew up in
a big Irish family outside of Philadelphia. I have seven siblings, a
twin brother, and I can't tell you how many nieces and nephews I have. I
graduated from San Diego State University with a Bachelor's in liberal
studies, with an emphasis in elementary education. I completed my year
of teaching certification and internship at San Diego State University,
as well.
I love teaching
and am very excited to be a part of Sorensen Magnet School of the Arts
and Humanities. Our staff, parents, and children make up an incredible
learning community that makes learning fun.
