Our school seeks to integrate arts and humanities standards into our regular academic instruction while providing increased opportunities for rich and meaningful experiences in the various performing and visual arts. In the primary grades (K-3), the goal is for exposure to the broad spectrum of arts and humanities disciplines. In 4th and 5th grade, the goal is to narrow the emphasis to a particular discipline of interest to the child, so that experiences and instruction can be focused more deeply. We achieve this through weekly demonstration teams, held during the arts and humanities block on Fridays. This is a time for older students to really learn and practice in an area of their choice.
