A growing line-up of activities and competitions available throughout the year are making advanced learning challenges fun and exciting. Be sure to check with the Advanced Learning Program Facilitator to find out when and where these following learning events will be taking place.
Junior Great Books - Combines rich, challenging literature with Shared Inquiry Discussion that allows students to engage in the process of interpretive reading and reflective thinking.
Invent Idaho - Also known as Invention Convention is designed to stimulate children's creativity, problem-solving, and natural inventiveness; first through eighth grade compete during the month of November.
Idaho History Day - Students grow academically and intellectually as they integrate the arts, economics, science, and other disciplines into a historical presentation.
National Geography Bee - This contest is designed to encourage students in grades four through eight in geography.
Math Counts - A National Math coaching and competition program. It promotes seventh and eighth grade mathematics achievement.
Spelling Bee - District Spelling Bee for grades fourth through eighth. Each building will send their winner to Coeur d'Alene High School, January 29, 2009, at 7:00 p.m. for the competition.
