Music

Music class occurs once a week for our students at Ramsey. We share our studies with the parents at several annual events.

November 5th Grade Veteran's Day Concert
December 1st & 3rd Gr. Holiday Concert
February Kindergarten Teddy Bear Tea
April 2nd & 4th Gr. Spring Concert

Kindergarten has 30 minutes of musical instruction per week. First to fifth grades have 45 minutes per week. We also have two additional musical classes: Strings and Special Chorus. Strings is an optional class for Fifth Graders. This twice a week class occurs during the school day. Special Chorus is an optional class for Third, Fourth and Fifth Graders. This class meets before school at 7:58 a.m. every week.

Vocal music makes up the lion's share of the musical curriculum. Our school does have several xylophones. These instruments add their Bass, Alto, and Soprano voices to many pieces each year. This instruction is part of the Orff teaching style which is used at Ramsey.
