Technical Communications is the prerequisite for all Industrial Technology classes including Manufacturing 1 & 2 and Architectural Design. The course is designed to introduce sketching, board drafting, and computer aided drawing/design (CADD). Technical Communications is a must for students interested the fields of Engineering, Building, Manufacturing, Architecture, Landscape Design, Communications, and any other field that requires two or three dimensional planning. Students can expect to become familiar with the primary drafting tools as well as AutoCAD, Solidworks, and Chief Architect CADD programs. Other related areas that students may be exposed to in this course are Silk Screening and Digital Photography. (Skill sets may articulate with NIC Drafting/Design programs. See instructor.)

7644 - ARCHITECTURAL DRAFTING (TE 0224) (11,12) 1 Credit/1 Semester                                                                                           A course designed to prepare students with basic skills that support the fields of architectural development. Architectural drawings may include assignments that relate to residential, light commercial, marine and aerospace related structures. Math is an integral part of this class. Computers used about 50% of the time. (Skill sets may articulate with NIC Drafting/Design programs. See instructor.) Prerequisite: Technical Communication

7610 - MANUFACTURING SYSTEMS 1 (TE 1931) (9,10,11,12) 1 Credit/1 Semester                                                         Manufacturing Systems is designed for students to study general concepts and principles of manufacturing systems through hands-on general shop activities. Working individually and in teams, students design products, develop and conduct market surveys, develop financial and personnel strategies, advertise, market and produce products using manufacturing methods. The course is for students interested in product design, creative problem solving, creation of prototypes, traditional and computer-assisted design, and engineering concepts. (Skill sets may articulate with NIC Drafting/Design programs. See instructor.) Prerequisite: Technical Communication

7612 - MANUFACTURING SYSTEMS 2 (TE 1932) (10,11,12) 1 Credit/1 Semester                                                             Manufacturing Systems II is a semester course designed to enhance and compliment the skills, techniques and knowledge acquired in Manufacturing Systems I.
