Middle School Dress Code Dress Code Policy

The policy will be STRICTLY enforced
Appropriate Dress & Appearance: (Board Policy #553)
The primary purpose of the school program is education. Student clothing must be
appropriate and not distract or be disruptive to the school program. Each
student should strive to maintain a manner of dress appropriate to a positive
classroom atmosphere and reflective of individual pride in self and school.
SHOES MUST BE WORN AT ALL TIMES!
Items of Clothing that are Never Appropriate:
Sleeveless blouses, dresses, or shirts. All clothing must have sleeves.
Shorts and skirts above fingertip length. (arms down)
Midriff tops, low necklines, muscle shirts, see-through or holey tops, pajamas
or any other revealing clothing.
Saggy, low-riding pants.
Decal, slogans or sayings on clothes that contain references to illegal or
immoral behavior.
Sweatbands and sunglasses.
Clothing with inappropriate names, words, and pictures.
No undergarments may be visible.
Clothing that suggests “gang” affiliation or advertises drugs or alcohol.
Silky running shorts, bathing suits.
Any clothing or personal adornment that’s determined to be disruptive to the
learning environment.
Apparel that reveals midriff or underwear when arms are raised over head.
Chains
No winter coats are allowed in the classroom.
HATS OR ANY TYPE OF HEADGEAR ARE NOT TO BE WORN IN THE BUILDING!
