to ROOM 37 at Lakes Middle School, a place where over 100 students a day come together to build on their knowledge of mathematics and to learn more about themselves and the world around them.

I believe it is our job to prepare children for a world that will look very different in the future. Tomorrow's workers need to be able to approach unfamiliar situations critically and creatively. There is no crystal ball to show us when or how today's students will use the mathematics they are learning, but we can see many doors of opportunity closing on those who do not have a strong mathematics background.

	ACTIVITIES Try your hand at some special math challenges, games, puzzles and activities.
