Homework

Homework is an
effective tool to help each student develop a successful method for studying outside the classroom. It reinforces skills and material learned in class,
prepares students for upcoming class topics, and helps foster
responsibility. It also gives you the opportunity to observe the study
habits of your child and to become familiar with academic expectations.
Homework will be given Monday thru Thursday, and is due at 9:00 the
following day.
If a child
loses their homework, they can replace it by having a parent or guardian
make up at least 15 math problems, or write a short story ( at least 10
sentences), or write 10 sentences using at lest seven words in a sentence.
All homework is to be in the child's best handwriting.
From
the internet, you can print out a worksheet for your child to complete to
replace their lost homework.
The children will be reading each weeknight
for at least 20 minutes. It is important to the children’s success that
they read nightly. There will be a monthly reading calendar sent to record
their nightly reading. Please verify that your child has read by signing the
monthly reading calendar and returning it at the end of the month.
If a child
does not bring in their homework, then a consequence will have to take
place. They will receive one reminder and miss part of their morning
recess.
