FERNAN'S ART GALLERY
SECOND GRADE
Our motto: "Imagination is more important than knowledge."
~Albert Einstein

At the beginning of the year the Second Grade students reviewed overlapping and drew a falcon with guided instruction.  (We are the Fernan Falcons!)  The students learned to follow simple and more complex patterns and to create their own patterns on sweaters.  They studied the primary and secondary colors and drew from a page in the book Mouse Paint.  They learned about Andy Warhol and did a still life drawing of a soup can.  And, of course, they learned some wet-in-wet watercolor techniques to paint or color flowers from a still life, creating a mural for the District 271 Students Art Show in the spring.

Can you see any difference from First Grade?  They learned that the reinforcement of skills with practice brings ease, quality and much more enjoyment!
