Emergency Information"Snow Day" Closure Procedures It is the responsibility of the Transportation Director to advise the
Superintendent if the weather or road conditions warrant the closing of school
in District 271. The decision to close school is normally made before 6 a.m. on the day in
question. The process used to make this decision includes driving and
checking various parts of the district, contact with other districts (if
possible), contact with the city and county road departments, and
monitoring the local, 24-hour weather channel. If the decision is made to
cancel school that day, a phone tree is in place to notify radio and
television stations, as well as school principals and directors. Parents
are asked to listen to area radio and television stations after 6 a.m. for
school closure information, or call the Transportation Hotline at 667-0784
for recorded information. Last Modified 01/08/2008 © 2003 Coeur d'Alene School District |
