Arts & Humanities at Sorenson
-
Sorensen Elementary is unique in so many ways...
including the weekly Arts and Humanities experiences for all students, which provide an ADDITIONAL 45 minutes of contact time every week. The purpose of this time is to develop well-rounded students who have exposure to all facets of talents within our school community.
During designated A&H weeks, students attend an exploratory class Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday for that week.
The following week, they move to the next class in the rotation of A&H options:Students interested in exploring select areas in greater detail can apply to a corresponding extracurricular program (performance teams), which meets before and/or after school.

Did you know Sorensen has been designated as an "Exemplary School" within the Arts Schools Network?
The Arts Schools Network designates "Exemplary Schools" in recognition of outstanding efforts in strategically evaluating their purpose, operations, plans, and educational programs. To qualify for this designation, a school must complete a comprehensive review through a series of questions that explore the entire range of a school’s purpose and operations. The review was created by the Arts Schools Network and the Accrediting Commission for Community and Precollegiate Arts Schools (ACCPAS) to help school personnel plan, evaluate, and implement effective organizational development.
