- Prepare your presentation with information about the famous
people using Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Present your project to the class.
Guidelines for gathering information:
Download the
Gathering Birthday Buddies Information worksheet. (Right-click
on the file. Click Save to save the document to your P: drive. Then,
open the file to work on the worksheet.)
Complete the entire worksheet before you begin making your
PowerPoint presentation.
Guidelines for Presentation;
- Use PowerPoint. You may use a template or create from layout
designs. Template or background designs must be appropriate to the
content. This is a birthday presentation.
- name the file youtinitials-bbuds
- save it in your P drive
- Apply the basic elements of multimedia design as discussed
in class.
- Title slide requirements:
- a clever title
- the author (i.e. you) of the project
- Slide about you:
- your picture (use the class digital camera)
- name
- birth date
- birth place
- Content slides Requirements:
- a minimum of one slide (no more than two slides)
for each famous person
- include the first and last name of each famous
person
- include place, day and year of birth
- include facts about this person from your
gathering information worksheet
- Include a picture of each famous person.
- site the source of the pictures in your
reference page
- pictures must be high quality, not pixilated
- Clipart requirements:
- Include one clipart item on the Master Slide.
- On the other slides, include clipart that enhances the
presentation.
- Special effects requirements:
- be consistent with slide transitions
- be conservative when using animation
- must enhance the slide
show, not distract from it.
- Include appropriate sound. For example, Happy Birthday
song.
- sounds or music should not be distracting from the
presentation.
- reference the author of the music, the name of the song,
and the name of the CD in your reference page
- site the source of sounds if taken from some other
source than Microsoft in your reference page
- Use Notes Page to type your speech for your presentation.
- Concluding slide requirements:
- summarize the important content
- Reference slide requirements:
- cite content sources
- cite picture sources
- cite music sources
- Google is not a source - do not reference it
- Tip: play music in the background of this slide
- Rehearse your presentation to ensure everything works
properly.
- Present to the class:
- know your material
- maintains eye contact with the audience (look
at the audience— do not read the presentation)
- speak clearly and modulate your voice
- stand up straight; hands at side
- at the conclusion check for understanding by
asking questions or oral quiz, etc.
- utilize allotted time effectively (no more than
five minutes)
- Give your teacher an electronic copy of your presentation.
Project is worth 50 points. Please put both time and effort into
presenting a quality presentation to the class.
