Using AutoShapes


Activity: The AutoShapes Tool
Overview of the activity:

In this activity, you will show that you understand how to use the AutoShapes tool. Once you know how to use this tool in Publisher, you will be able to use it in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Open Publisher. Choose a Blank Publication > Full Page.

Save the file on your P: drive. Name the file "autoshapes".

Use the AutoShapes tool to recreate the image below or create your own image.

Tips:

Use the Group/Ungroup tool to group objects together. This will make them easier to move.

Use copy/paste to reproduce a object exactly the same size and color. The keyboard shortcut for copy is Ctrl+c. The keyboard shortcut for paste is Ctrl+v.

Use the Rotate/Flip tool to change the orientation of an object.

Use the Order tool to move object to the front or back.

If you make a mistake, use Ctrl+z to undo.

Remember to save often in case of a crash. Ctrl+s will save your file.

Satisfied with your product? You are finished with this activity when you have a strong grasp of using the following tools: AutoShapes, Group, Order, Rotate/Flip and the keyboard shortcuts.

View the final product in Print Preview before printing. Make adjustments to align and center the autoshape on the work space. Type your First/Last Name and Period on your paper, print it, turn it into the basket.
