SKI CLUB
Goals:
·
To
promote lifelong activity for CMS students by providing Saturday ski days at
Silver Mountain Ski Resort.
·
To
provide an extra-curricular activity that is supervised and safe for all
students.
·
To
offer all interested students an equal opportunity to participate.

Rules:
·
Participation
is a privilege. As representatives of
Canfield, students will be expected to act safely, respectfully, and
responsibly at all times.
·
School
and District rules and policies will be enforced during Canfield Ski Days.
·
Bringing
weapons, tobacco, alcohol, drugs will result in permanent dismissal from Ski
Days, as well as disciplinary action from administration.
·
In
order for any student to participate a Silver
Mountain Liability and Indemnity Release Form must be signed by parents.
·
Student
should stay with their Ski Buddy all day.
Never ski/board alone!
·
Payments
must be received by the Wednesday before Canfield Ski Days.
·
Payments
are non-refundable.
·
Time
schedule will be strictly followed.
Parents will be responsible for transporting any students who are late.
·
Use
of helmets is highly recommended.
·
Skis
and poles must be firmly attached together for transporting. Equipment will be transported in bus storage
compartment.
·
Students
must ride bus to and from Silver.
·
Students
not picked up by
Accident/Emergency
Procedure:
In the event of a serious injury or
emergency, the following procedure should occur:
·
Student
will report or be transported to ski patrol hut.
·
The
ski club advisor will be contacted, and report to patrol office.
·
Parent
or secondary contact will be called and informed of the situation.
·
Should
student need hospital treatment or emergency transportation, qualified
personnel will accompany him/her until the parent arrives.
Capacity:
The bus has limited seat capacity on a first come first serve
basis.
Equal Opportunity:
In the event that a student cannot financially afford to pay,
please contact KWilson or a counselor at Canfield, and provisions will be made.
