General Information / Pet Peeves
Hello! Anxious to learn more about your new teacher? Well, I'll try and accommodate your interest! Below is a list of the basics, based on questions my students have asked me in the past.
Born and (mostly) raised in Bonners Ferry, ID
Played volleyball, basketball, and ran track
Graduated from University of Idaho with degrees in Special Education K-12 and Secondary Education (6-12) English, journalism, and speech (public speaking)
Taught special education at CMS from 1999-2002
Have coached volleyball, basketball, & track at CMS
I have 2 younger brothers (30 & 14) and 2 younger sisters (24 & 23). If you have older siblings, you may know my sisters who went to school at CHS: Erica & Kelly Hauck.
My husband, Chad, taught at CMS with me for 9 years! He is now employed full time at Real Life Ministries working in the middle school ministry--CDY (Christ Driven Youth).
Two children: Katie Jo (3) and Tucker (1)
No pets yet---too busy to give a pet needed attention
Enjoy listening to a variety of music styles, although mostly I listen to Christian music. Some of my favorites: Casting Crowns, Switchfoot, & Skillet
Love to read (duhhhhhhh) and am in a Christian book club. My favorite authors are Karen Kingsbury and Francine Rivers.
Watching movies is another favorite past time. On Golden Pond is one of my favorites.
I am addicted to watching 24! Go Jack Bauer! My other TV favorites:
I love to laugh! I collect jokes, funny stories, and goofy pictures to share with students.
I love playing games and am very competitive. My favorites are: Cranium, Beyond Balderdash, Dominoes, Bunco, Scene It, and Catch Phrase.
I love sports! I prefer playing volleyball and basketball, but I don't mind watching football and baseball too. I even played fantasy football for a couple years before I got too busy with kids!
I'm one of Canfield's Building Technology Leaders and love using technology!
My Pet Peeves @ School:
Asking the same question two min. after another student
Not bringing paper & pen/pencil to class
Sitting on top of desks
Asking "What are we doing today?" when it's written on the board
Asking "What did we do yesterday?" when it's written in the class agenda
Excuses!
Leaving out my materials
Talking while teacher or peer is talking
Messes around your desk--belongings and garbage
