Welcome to Bryan Elementary
School.
My name is Joel Palmer and this I have
worked for the Coeur d’Alene School District since 1979. Before
coming to Bryan in 2003, I taught
first grade for 4 years, Title 1 Reading for 8 years, Kindergarten
for 1 year and a Grade 1 and 2 combination class for 1 year. In addition, I was
the Director of Title 1 for 2 years and principal of Borah
Elementary School for 8 years. I have also taught classes and
directed the Coeur d’Alene School District K-12 Summer School
Program for several years. I received my Bachelor of Art in Reading
Education and Masters of Art in Reading Education from Eastern
Washington University and an Administration Degree from the
University of Idaho.
It has been a terrific experience getting to know the families of
Bryan Elementary School. I am enjoying working with the parents,
staff and students. You will notice the statement "we are lifelong
learners" on our website, in our newsletters and on our building.
The culture of our school is one that fosters this attitude. We care
about the whole child and while our students achieve to a high
academic standard, academics only tell a part of Bryan’s story. We
are proud of our student’s participation in activities such as; the
annual Turkey Trot, cross country, student elections and after
school PLATO classes just to name a few. Our PTO prides itself on
providing many low/no-cost family activities throughout the year.
The staff is extremely hard working. Our students are number one in
our minds and hearts.
Please explore our website and/or stop by the school and experience
the excitement of Bryan Bears being lifelong learners. |
