Susan Thomas assumed the leadership of The Bridge Academy with more than 13 years of educational experience in a variety of settings.

Susan has been a member of The Bridge Academy team since the inception of the program in the fall of 2003.

Before Bridge, Susan served 8 years as a classroom teacher for Coeur D’Alene School District #271 in the District 1 Juvenile Detention Center. Her duties included: Liaison for the Title 1 Neglected and Delinquent Youth Program, and facilitator of the GED Program. Susan also taught classes in a variety of subject areas. Her endorsements include: English, History, Social Studies, and Humanities. She is currently pursuing a math endorsement.

Susan’s Alma Mater is Gonzaga University. She is continually taking classes at North Idaho College, University of Idaho, and she frequently engages in distance learning.

Susan strives for balance in her professional and her personal life. She believes in her students and is dedicated to facilitating their academic and personal growth and success. She is married, has three children, and three grandchildren.
